{ First Snow in Glasgow }

{ First Snow in Glasgow }
l remembered the first snow in last year was November. Shang-i-ou and I was taking photo in midnight for the group project. We went to Cowcaddens subway station and the residential flat opposites it. It was empty everywhere in midnight so we feel so relax and actually we took many good shots! Yesterday I was waiting for the snow but it never came, then Tu Lang suddenly knocked on the door and said loudly to me : "Li Sha! It is snowing!  Glasgow is snowing!" I jumped on the bed by the window and sticked my face on the window : "OH MY GOD! IT IS SNOWING!" lol, I can't believe we were that exciting and acted like we never saw snow before!   "Let's go downstairs to take some photo! " Tu Lang spoke extremely happy.

Three girls wore layers of clothes and covered head and hands with hats and gloves, ran to downstairs and took the photos below :

{ Rain Lovers }

17. 07. 2011

Oh, the silent eye.

Oh, the silent eye.

May I give you a smile as a Welcome for visiting my blog?

A night out shooting.

Tout le Monde - Carla Bruni - http://t.cn/hC4TW1

It was a great day, although the weather is horrible. Shang Yi-ou and I decided to take some photos at night by walking from city center to west end Glasgow. If you ever ever came to Glasgow , then you must know sometimes umbrella is so useless! Because of the weather, we couldn't stay too long on the streets, but we still got some nice shots, at least I love them!

Here are some of my favorites, hope you enjoy them : )

Project { The 5 Objects }

This is a project I worked on during my postgraduate course last year. I have worked on this project for about 11months, from the beginning of the term till the end. During developing this project I have been to North Europe for a little break without doing any work. I experienced sad, pain, struggle when I was doing this project, there are many times I want to stop pushing myself to finish this project, but finally I worked through. I never said this is a finished project, it has so many possibilities to develop. It is more like a journal, like a medicine that recorded what I have been through and helped me release my hidden innermost emotion from heart.

The 5 Objects}

I am interested in how people attach themselves to objects and how does visuals recall memories, and how memories are stored? How does the unconscious work though visual? It is a self-analysis of the feeling of ‘loss’, the content is personal but the approach is very professional. As a designer, I am learning how to handle difficult or complex contents into more comprehensible formats.

I’m very inspired and trying to attach five senses to initiate the drama of memories. Visiting memories using five different object: Perfume (for smell), chewing gum (for taste), torn pictures (for visual), music (for audio) and torn clothes (for tactile sensation).

For 5 Objects project, all these different attributes are attached to the book.
To enter from the public identity to more personal identity, the viewer has to tear open the pages, by cutting fore-edges, to reveal innermost and true secrets about my personality. This adds a different dimension to the book. A paper-cutting knife is being provided at the beginning of the book.

Visual content comes from all sorts of resources like my boarding passes, maps, movie tickets, pictures of objects, personal photographs and diaries that are relevant to this project.

This project really helped me personally and proved to be an inspiration point in moving forward in life, with much determination and courage. The secret baggage that I was holding to, got revealed, making me feel lighter and transparent.

 Flow

This is a small project about travel. I wish to use fewer texts and experience with playful possibilities of image compositions to let the images themselves tell the story of the journey. It invites the viewer to interact by reading the visual vocabulary and trigger their imagination.

When you travel, somehow it helps you to stay away from your original life for a while. You see new places, new people and you may even think in new ways.

The landscape on the journey is visible, but sensibilities and feelings we have are invisible. I intended to express these emotional feelings through colors, compositions, collage and the selection of paper textures, to restore the figure of the journey as an on-the-road traveler.

 Keep on flowing.
